Fiber means thin strands of thread which are made up of still
thinner strands. Fibers are obtained from plants and animals like cotton, jute,
silk and wool. We know wool is obtained from the fleece of sheep or goat. For many
years people have used natural fiber but nowadays we are using some artificial
fibers. These artificial fibres are made from chemical substances which are
called synthetic fibres, for instance, polyester and nylon.
People are
widely using all types of fabric materials but some natural fibers are giving
cooling and a feeling about nature. So most people prefer cotton
materials. Some chemical materials like polyester are perfect but feel warm.
Cotton
Cotton is
usually cultivated in black soil and warm climates. The fruits are cotton is
just like a lemon in size, after maturing these cotton fruits burst open
and we can see cotton fibres. A process is needed to separate fibres from seed
that is called ginning process.
Jute
Definitely, jute
fibres are obtained from the stem of jute plants. In India, jute fibres are
grown in West Bengal, Bihar and Assam. This jute plant is much needed in India because the bag of jute fibre is easily handled by common people and is also environmentally
friendly.
